The granule exits a furnace exceeding 1,200 °C, powder from a spray dryer; fire maintenance in Kütahya is built around these two facts. An ordinary smoke detector hung around the furnace here reads hot air, not fire; conveyor and dust lines generate their own risks. We approach the facility not with a single-type checklist, but with a scope divided according to the process's own temperature profile.

What is the function of a smoke detector while glazed firing continues at 1,250 °C?

In the center of production in Kütahya, there is a kiln. In the tile roller kiln it fires at approximately 1,180–1,220 °C, in the vitrification tunnel kiln it sees the 1,200–1,250 °C band, and in tableware porcelain glazed firing goes even higher. Hot gas exceeding 500 °C is supplied to the spray dryer at the start of the line; what comes out is fine granular dust. In this environment, an ordinary optical smoke detector hung from the ceiling reads not a fire but hot air currents and suspended dust: it produces false alarms and eventually is disabled. Maintenance equipment list does not begin by repetition, but by considering detector type and location together with the process — in planning CEN/TS 54-14, ambient temperature is essential in the heat detector class.

Industrial geography is also not a single piece: in the center, over half a century old Kütahya OSB, next to it 30 Ağustos OSB and dedicated to ceramics Kütahya Seramik OSB; in the districts Tavşanlıhistoric buildings Gedizhistoric buildings Simav and in Altıntaş Zafer OSB. To tile, vitrification, porcelain and faience are added refractory–magnesia, lignite-thermal lines, sugar and food; thermal facilities in Yoncalı, Simav Eynal and Gediz open up a completely different maintenance item.

Covers we first opened on inspection in the kiln line

Burner line: what must be monitored is not smoke but methane

All kilns and dryers are fed with natural gas. For a fire to start, a pile of combustibles is not necessary; a leaking fitting with a hot surface is enough. For this reason, the first device to be discussed in the kiln zone is not a smoke detector, but the calibration of the gas detection sensor, the interlock logic, and whether the emergency shut-off valve actually closes. If the valve has not been tested in years, it goes into the report with a photograph.

Spray dryer, hydraulic press and control panel room

Hot gas, granular dust and bagged filter form the most silent risk of a ceramic facility: it takes seconds for a spark in the filter to meet accumulated dust. During the round the detector lens is cleaned, a response test is performed, the pressure feeding the nozzle line is measured. When a fine hydraulic oil leak in the press hits a hot surface, not drops but easily ignitable oil mist forms; there the nozzle placement is discussed. In the MCC room, water damage is itself the problem: in a clean gas system, tube weighing, sealing and triggering chain are validated together (wheeled devices must have).

Three loads outside the kiln: belt, coal, dust

  • Belt. Rubber belts running for kilometers operate in refractory–magnesia and mining fields; slippage or a heated bearing starts an invisible friction fire. Along the long route, the integrity and termination of the linear heat detection cable are checked.
  • Coal. Lignite piles self-heat; an unmonitored field is already burning from within when noticed from outside. Cable galleries and oil units are handled separately.
  • Dust and pile. Ceramic granule, lime and sugar dust behave with the same physics; the round records where dust accumulates. In the palletized tile and packaging warehouse wheeled devices must have Practical threshold: if device count exceeds 50 or if knowing fire location within seconds is critical, an addressable system should be preferred. wheeled devices must have is essential. We do not have an address in Kütahya; how do we convert this to a calendar?

In this city we have neither an office nor a warehouse nor a standby technician; we will not claim otherwise. The center is in Ankara Yenimahalle; Kütahya together with neighboring provinces is written as a planned regional tour , when the team descends to the region it visits the facilities in sequence. This has a clear consequence: we do not promise inspection on the same day. There is three and a half to four hours' drive between; instead of an unkept promise, we give the date written in advance. Inspection within Ankara is free of charge; in Kütahya inspection is fitted into the tour program. In case of malfunction, the first step is not to set out: it is done with panel type, fault code and a few photographs perform remote preliminary diagnosis ; when it does not close, the correct card and correct tube are loaded into the vehicle. From detection to gas extinguishing, all systems can be written into a single contract, a facility that wishes can also add camera maintenance (CCTV). Details: nationwide service and Ankara maintenance pages.

What is measured in a Kütahya tour?

  • Detection: around the kiln and dryer, detector type and placement, circulation and battery test, verification of evacuation and lockdown in scenario.
  • Wet systems: alarm valve and collector valve positions, pump actuation pressures, test records (wheeled devices must havehistoric buildings wheeled devices must have).
  • Gaseous suppression: tube weighing and pressure, room tightness, solenoid and actuator test; missing tube filling is written into the program (wheeled devices must have).
  • Hood: duct oil accumulation in thermal hotel kitchen, wet chemical nozzle placement, gas shut-off connection (wheeled devices must havehistoric buildings NFPA 17A). See hood maintenanceA zone monitoring module connects an entire conventional detector line to the addressable loop. Critical areas are renewed with addressable devices while secondary zones continue to operate with their existing wiring. This provides significant cost advantage in capacity upgrade and renovation projects.
  • Hydrant, cabinet and extinguisher: static–dynamic pressure, hose and nozzle control, drainage against winter in external lines; weighing, manometer and label control in extinguisher Portable fire extinguishers:is according to.

Let us say this in advance in the proposal: we do not price the administrative building with the production hall by the same square meter logic, we assign separate value for the kiln line — the scope is written according to how many kilns, how many dryers, how many dust points there are. To Set Up Your Maintenance Program

One contract, a solution for everything: we provide end-to-end maintenance to fire detection, gas suppression, sprinkler, hydrant, and pump units in their entirety; if you wish, camera (CCTV) system maintenance can also be added to the same contract.

If you do not have the brand, age, and last maintenance record of the existing system on hand, that is not a problem; the first step is anyway inventory and current condition assessment. Setting up an annual program without seeing what is there in the field means selling maintenance for a system that does not exist.

You can examine your system brand's product equivalents in our product catalog ; for requirements specific to your facility's use class, you can visit our sectoral solutions pages.

For survey and quotation you can or send your plan through our write or directly You can call call the number. Survey is free within Ankara; for facilities throughout Turkey, the visit plan is established jointly before contract.

Frequently Asked Questions

Detectors around the kiln are constantly alarming from heat; can the detector type be changed during maintenance?

Yes, it is identified during the survey and noted in the report. Optical smoke detectors around kilns and dryers are triggered by hot air currents and suspended granule dust; in these areas, heat detectors of a class appropriate to the ambient temperature are selected. The change is usually made during the same tour, or at heavily populated points via a planned follow-up visit. Additionally, what should primarily be monitored around the kiln is the natural gas supply line; if gas detection is not installed, this is also noted as a recommendation in the report.

Do we have spark detection in our spray dryer and bag filter line, and how can we tell?

Spark detectors positioned before the filter inlet in the duct and a suppression nozzle connected to them are sought. During maintenance, the detector lens is cleaned, a response test is performed, and the pressure in the line supplying the nozzle is measured. If the system does not exist, it is noted as missing in the survey report; dust accumulation areas are photographed and a cleaning interval is recommended.

When we have a fault at night and you don't have a crew in Kütahya, what happens?

The first step is not to go on the road, but to obtain the panel type, fault code, and a few photographs; a portion of faults are resolved remotely at this stage. If not, dispatch is scheduled and the correct card and correct cylinder are loaded onto the vehicle. We do not promise same-day arrival; we state in writing from the beginning which day we will come.

Can our thermal hotel kitchen and ceramic factory be on the same contract?

Yes. The two facilities are linked to a single calendar and single report format; the hotel kitchen hood suppression, duct grease accumulation, and gas cutoff connection, and the factory kiln line with dust areas each run under their own line items. A single consolidated report containing facility-based findings list is sent to management.

How frequently should maintenance be performed; who determines this?

The frequency is determined by the standard to which the system is bound and the manufacturer's own manual: on the portable extinguisher side TS 11827 applies, in the sprinkler and pump group feeding the kiln hall TS EN 12845 and NFPA 25 framework is valid. Detection planning is referred to CEN/TS 54-14, the clean gas system in the panel room to TS ISO 14520; the hood in the thermal hotel kitchen is evaluated via NFPA 96 and NFPA 17A. In dusty and high-temperature process environments like Kütahya, some items are addressed more frequently than the minimum interval given by the standard; we recommend this based on measurement results during the survey.
