Çorum's production fabric consists of a foundry, flour-feed mill machinery, chickpea-food line and brick-tile kiln; all four present different challenges for fire detection. We link the periodic inspection of detection, sprinkler, gas system and pump groups to a regional tour schedule with our teams from our Ankara center.

Where do the sparks fall when the ladle empties into the mold?

A night shift at a Çorum foundry proceeds as follows: the ladle taken from the furnace walks toward the mold line, orange light pours from the casting mouth, with each pour sparks spray several meters away. On the ground is molding sand, wooden pallets at the edge, aged oily dust on the beams. Fire in the foundry rarely comes from the ladle itself; it comes from where the sparks fall — from a leaking hydraulic fitting, from a filter bag, from a cloth soaked in mold oil. The hot metal is already under surveillance; what is unguarded is everything around it.

This scene is no exception for Çorum. Operating since 1977, Çorum OSB spans 665 hectares with occupancy near one hundred percent: more than one hundred sixty facilities, approaching ten thousand workers. Metal casting is one of the region's main pillars, and the detection type and maintenance discipline at a facility with a casting line do not proceed as in an ordinary factory.

Four production sections, four separate maintenance characteristics

Çorum does not rely on a single sector: casting, flour-feed mill machinery, food (roasted chickpeas, flour, legumes) and brick-tile production stand side by side. What makes the rounds difficult is exactly this; in one shift you deal with furnace temperatures, the next morning with suspended grain dust.

The city that produces mill machinery knows the mill's risk

Flour and feed mill machinery is one of the items that established Çorum's export identity; the province is among the leading centers for this product, selling to more than one hundred countries. Here the main concern is not visible flame but suspended dust: a spark born in an elevator bucket ignites the dust cloud in the duct, the settled dust ventilated by the first explosion feeds a larger second event. On the rounds, if there is a spark detection line, function verification is obtained; if not, the report notes the deficiency; in areas where dust settles, the optical detector's measuring chamber is cleaned and its sensitivity measured.

Detector selection on the furnace line is half the maintenance

Çorum has a tradition in brick and tile spanning more than half a century; the province has more than fifty factories and thousands of workers. Around drying and firing furnaces, the ambient temperature is already high. A heat detector with the wrong threshold triggers continuous alarms; when the threshold is raised, the system is effectively disabled. Both lead to the same place: no one takes the panel seriously. On the rounds, detector type and threshold are compared against ambient measurement; if unsuitable, the recommended type is entered in the report with justification. Conveyor belts, fuel feed line, and cable galleries are separate items.

At the foundry, rounds are conducted while the furnace runs continuously

At a facility with a melting furnace, there is no equivalent to the sentence "stop the line for maintenance." Planning is structured by shift; intervals when furnace feed is cut are discussed in advance. Valve operations and pump testing are performed with the system remaining active. Everything installed at the facility from detection to gas system, from pump group to fire cabinet is consolidated in a single maintenance contract; at a facility requesting maintenance of field cameras (⟦0⟧), this is also entered in the same file.

Not a branch sign but a route: How Çorum is scheduled

We conduct this work in Çorum from the center in Ankara Yenimahalle, not from a branch office. Rather than opening an office province by province, we tied the calendar to a route: Çorum is port and mixed industry is the base of the regional tour; the natural stop of a tour window extending from the Ankara–Kırıkkale–Sungurlu line maintenance price in the direction of. On the same trip, facilities in Çorum OSB, Sungurlu OSB, and Osmancık OSB are grouped; the district's small industrial sites are also written into this route. Neighboring facilities taken on a single calendar share travel costs; this

is reflected. The honest side of the system: For Çorum we do not promise"same-day inspection" public buildings, defense industry and . We can make that promise only perform remote preliminary diagnosis ; in Ankara, inspection is also free of charge. In Çorum, inspection date is linked in writing to the next round. In case of emergency fault, diagnosis is made nationwide servicebased on panel photograph and error code; if it cannot be resolved, the vehicle goes out with the correct spare. The operation see the service areas page.

What remains from the visit are measured values

A signed file remains on the desk when leaving the round, not just a verbal "everything is fine": test forms (cycle tests, pump pressures, tube weighing values), non-conformance list with photos, parts-filling proposal, and date of next visit. This is what works in audits and insurance. Send us your system inventory (detection, sprinkler, pump, gas suppression, hydrant) and your last inspection report if you have one —let us add Çorum to our next OSB round , we will give you the date in writing. You can write to us from our contact page You can call , or if you prefer you can reach us by phone.

To Set Up Your Maintenance Program

One contract, a solution for everything: we provide end-to-end maintenance to fire detection, gas suppression, sprinkler, hydrant, and pump units in their entirety; if you wish, camera (CCTV) system maintenance can also be added to the same contract.

If you do not have the brand, age, and last maintenance record of the existing system on hand, that is not a problem; the first step is anyway inventory and current condition assessment. Setting up an annual program without seeing what is there in the field means selling maintenance for a system that does not exist.

You can examine your system brand's product equivalents in our product catalog ; for requirements specific to your facility's use class, you can visit our sectoral solutions pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

In our foundry, ambient temperature and spark levels are high; why is standard smoke detection insufficient?

In areas with radiant heat and smoke-oil vapor, optical smoke detectors both foul quickly and generate false alarms. During the maintenance visit, ambient conditions are measured, and where appropriate, transition to heat or beam-type detection is documented in the report with technical justification. Hydraulic units, dust collection filters and above-beam oily dust are separate inspection items.

What is checked during maintenance against dust explosion risk in flour-feed mills and chickpea roasting lines?

If spark detection and suppression line is present, functional confirmation is obtained; if absent, it is reported as a deficiency. Elevator and duct routes are inspected; in dust-settling areas, optical detector measurement chambers are opened, cleaned and sensitivity values are read with the device. In the roasting-furnace area, heat detector and hood suppression are priority test items.

The control panel keeps alarming on our brick factory's kiln line; what is done?

This is typically not a fault but detector type-threshold mismatch. During the visit, detector type and threshold value are compared with ambient temperature measurement; rather than raising the threshold to mask the problem, the appropriate type is recommended, because a raised threshold effectively disables the system. Cable galleries and fuel supply line are also inspected during the same visit.

How quickly can you reach Çorum, and what happens in case of emergency fault?

We do not have a permanent team stationed in Çorum; scheduled maintenance is assigned to regional tours departing from Ankara headquarters with dates confirmed in writing beforehand. In case of emergency fault, remote preliminary diagnosis is first performed from panel photographs and error codes; if unresolved by phone, the service vehicle is dispatched loaded with spare parts appropriate to the facility's panel type.

Does the control room remain unprotected during gas suppression cylinder filling?

Cylinder filling and hydrostatic testing cannot be performed on-site; cylinders are removed and sent to a facility with filling competency documentation, returned units are installed and commissioned by our personnel. To minimize protection downtime, removal-installation timing is coordinated with the maintenance schedule; where feasible, operations continue with a spare cylinder.
