Fire safety in Aydın cannot be confined to a single facility type. What distinguishes Aydın is that a single resource touches three branches of the provincial economy simultaneously. Dozens of geothermal power plants operate along the Germencik, Kuyucak, Köşk, Sultanhisar, İncirliova and Buharkent corridor; the same heat enters the pipes of greenhouses; the coastline of Kuşadası and Didim is also fed from the same source.

In the power plant there is flammable organic fluid and corrosive vapor; in the greenhouse there is high humidity with large covered volume; in the hotel there is a crowd unfamiliar with the building. A single type checklist does not pass through this triangle.

Where is the province's fire load concentrated?

Industry is not centralized: the ASTİM OSB in Efeler, Aydın OSB in Umurlu, Nazilli OSB, Söke OSB, Ortaklar OSB in Germencik and Çine OSB each produce separate fabrics.

In the power plant the real enemy is not steam, but corrosion

The operator knows the risk at the wellhead; on the fire side it is different what is overlooked. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) coming with the fluid silently eats the metal of the system: the sprinkler alloy discolors, detector contacts change resistance. The difference between appearing to work and actually triggering only emerges in functional testing.

Separately addressed volumes

  • ORC units: the working fluid may be a flammable hydrocarbon; gas leak detection and fire detection must meet in the same scenario.
  • Control room, SCADA and UPS: cannot be protected with water; cylinder weighing and room sealing integrity are verified.
  • Turbine oil unit and transformer: oil contact with hot surface scenario determines nozzle placement.
  • Long field lines: hydrant pressure must be measured at the end of the line, not at a point.

Greenhouses: not an alarming system, but a correctly alarming system

Geothermally heated greenhouses are distributed around Germencik, Efeler, Buharkent, Köşk, Söke and Kuşadası. Under cover humidity is high, temperature changes rapidly; standard optical detectors produce false alarm fatigue within months, personnel learn to silence the panel. The heat center and packaging section must be addressed with separate scenarios.

Olive oil, olive pomace and fig: seasonally loaded facilities

  • Solvent extraction on the pomace line creates a flammable liquid scenario; equipment and grounding are checked accordingly.
  • Spontaneous heating in pomace piles starts fire from within; temperature monitoring should be included in the report.
  • Hot oil boiler and steam boiler room are the two most frequently overlooked volumes; in the dried fig line, cardboard, pallets and dust accumulation increase the load.

Nazilli's textiles, Söke's bales

In textiles the risk is concentrated not in the machine but in the feed line: sparks from foreign matter in the blending-carding and combing stages are carried into the dust duct within seconds; triggering time must be measured as much as detection presence. Söke Plain cotton creates bale and licensed warehouse structure; high-stacked bale storage falls into severe hazard class, when stack height changes adequacy is recalculated. Season opening in Kuşadası and Didim is a maintenance calendar

A significant portion of coastal facilities are closed or at low capacity in winter: when doors open in April, pumps have not run for months, detectors have waited in humidity, hood ducts may carry grease from the previous season.

  • Pre-season commissioning must be planned separately from in-season routine.

Do you have a branch in Aydın?

No. Our only registered address is Ankara Yenimahalle. We come to Aydın on scheduled regional tours, plan stops together with neighboring Aegean provinces, and notify the date in advance.

Can you come the same day in case of a malfunction?

We do not commit to same-day on-site response for Aydın; that would be an unsustainable commitment outside Ankara. We first perform remote preliminary diagnosis: panel event logs, fault codes, and site photographs to narrow down the issue, and in most cases we instruct the facility team on steps they can take over the phone. If on-site intervention is necessary, the date is confirmed and scheduled.

Why is maintenance different at a geothermal plant site?

How frequently is maintenance performed?

We do not impose a schedule; each system follows the test intervals of its own standard. The sprinkler network in the power plant and factory follows TS EN 12845, the pump room and hydrant line follows NFPA 25, the panel and detector side follows CEN/TS 54-14, the gas suppression system in the control room follows TS ISO 14520, the hood in the hotel kitchen follows NFPA 96 and 17A, portable extinguishers in greenhouses and storage areas follow TS 11827. If the facility has multiple systems, visits are combined into a common program.

What is done out of season for hotels in Kuşadası and Didim?

Pre-season commissioning is planned separately from in-season routine inspections. Fire pumps that have not run for months, detectors awaiting in humidity, outdoor buttons and panels affected by salt air, multilingual voice announcement scenarios, and hood duct grease buildup from the previous season are checked before doors are opened.
