In Diyarbakır, a city of marble processing, agricultural-food, and growing textile investments, dust is the common enemy of detectors, sprinklers, and pumps; however, stone dust, grain dust, and fiber particles create three entirely different problems. The team departing from Ankara visits the cutting-polishing line, the top of the silo, and the hospital corridor in Diyarbakır, the Southeast leg of the tour, all scheduled for the same week.

Diyarbakır is not just one city; it is the hub of the Southeast

At Diyarbakır OSB, the largest share of manufacturing is in food products; alongside agricultural product processing and packaging facilities, marble, furniture, metal and plastic manufacturers share the same area. The city's second pillar is stone: a portion of the block marble extracted from quarries in the Hani, Çermik and Çüngüş basins is exported, while a portion is processed in cutting-polishing plants in the city. The third pillar is new: at the Textile Specialization OSB, factory buildings are rising in succession, and each new building means a new detection and suppression system to be commissioned.

Reading Diyarbakır solely from the industrial map is also incomplete. The city is the regional center of the Southeast: large hospitals, university campus, shopping malls and public buildings create an extensive stock of structures. The historical fabric within the walls—Diyarbakır Castle and Hevsel Gardens have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2015—is a separate chapter in fire safety; our approach to these structures historical structure solutions is explained on the page.

Marble dust blinds, grain dust explodes, fiber ignites

In this city, dust determines the order of the maintenance list; which dust it is changes what will be monitored:

  • Stone dust (marble): is not combustible but accumulates in the optical detector's measurement chamber; the panel sounds false alarms for a while, then fails to detect actual smoke. For this reason, tank cleaning and sensitivity measurement are written at the top of the list in cutting-polishing lines.
  • Grain and legume dust: is organic dust and explosive under the right conditions. In flour, bulgur and feed facilities, elevator, silo and dryer line detection type and aspiration direction are separately evaluated. See factory solutionsA zone monitoring module connects an entire conventional detector line to the addressable loop. Critical areas are renewed with addressable devices while secondary zones continue to operate with their existing wiring. This provides significant cost advantage in capacity upgrade and renovation projects.
  • Fiber and yarn waste: in textiles, waste both contaminates the detector and becomes the initial fuel for fire under machines; sprinkler design in bale storage is checked together with stock height. See storage-warehouse solutionsA zone monitoring module connects an entire conventional detector line to the addressable loop. Critical areas are renewed with addressable devices while secondary zones continue to operate with their existing wiring. This provides significant cost advantage in capacity upgrade and renovation projects.

The place where three dusts intersect is the panel and energy rooms: transformer-energy room protection includes tube weighing and pressure reading as fixed items in each round; on large OSB parcels, the end point of the hydrant ring and the pump activation threshold are the same. On the contract side, we keep these under one roof: from the optical detector on the cutting line to the detection at the top of the silo, from the gaseous tube in the panel room to the hydrant at the end of the ring, whatever is installed in the facility runs on the same maintenance program; if the facility requests maintenance of the cameras monitoring the factory floor (CCTV), it enrolls the same program.

Jobs standing side by side on the same program do not resemble each other

1) Why does detection fail early in a marble factory?

Block marble is cut wet; water suppresses dust in part but in drying, polishing and packaging areas fine mineral dust hangs in the air and fills detector chambers. The actual fire risk is elsewhere: hydraulic oil units, conveyor motors, compressor and panel rooms. During the round, the measurement tank of each device is opened and accumulated dust is removed, remaining sensitivity is determined by measurement; for areas where dust never settles, recommendations for switching to heat detection are attached to the report along with these readings. Gaseous suppression tubes in the panel room are weighed during the same visit, their pressures are read.

2) The critical hundred meters of the bulgur facility

In flour, bulgur and feed facilities, the highest-risk area is the line where heat source and dust accumulation stand side by side: dryer outlet, elevator legs and top of silo. A worn-out elevator bearing heats up; if a spark meets dust, fire starts in an enclosed space and is noticed late from outside. During the maintenance round, this line is inspected separately: whether the detection is selected to be dust-resistant, whether the aspiration really works, whether the sprinkler protection in the storage area is compatible with stock arrangement, and hydrant pressures are checked one by one.

3) Scenario test conducted at night on a hospital floor

The building-side counterpart of being a regional center is hospitals, shopping malls and campus buildings. Here, the system is usually an addressable panel and test operation cannot stop services: scenario tests are scheduled for quiet hours; elevator calls, air conditioning central shutdown and smoke exhaust scenarios are verified one by one. Tube weighing in gaseous suppression in visualization and server rooms, emergency lighting duration test in corridors is performed. For details hotels and Shopping mall solutions pages.

The team does not pass through Diyarbakır; it stays in Diyarbakır

In Diyarbakır we have no desk, no warehouse, no branch; our presence here is a maintenance team stationed in the region during certain weeks of the year. Because the approximately 900 kilometers between Ankara and here do not permit day trips, we structure the round accordingly: the team carpet, textile and food industry is by far the region's most intensive service point. enters the region via, stays in Diyarbakır and visits facilities in surrounding provinces on the same program without returning to Ankara until the job is complete. This rhythm has two concrete benefits for the facility: the maintenance date is set months in advance and the same team that knows the facility's history knocks on the door each round; the price aspect of tying multiple facilities to one program maintenance prices is on the page. A malfunction does not wait for the round; at that moment the first move is not a vehicle but information: the error code displayed by the panel and a few photos narrow down whether the malfunction indicates a card, circuit or power supply issue, the service vehicle is loaded accordingly with cards and spares compatible with the facility's panel type. The framework of our work arrangement in distant provinces nationwide service is on the page, the priority order at the time of malfunction emergency repair service page.

This round fills the folder you will hand to the inspector

SystemThe prominent work in the Diyarbakır round
Fire detectionTank cleaning in areas exposed to marble and grain dust, measurement of remaining sensitivity, circuit-battery inspection and scenario drill
Sprinkler + pumpVerification of valve positions on site, alarm valve drill, pump activation threshold, review of test records
Gas extinguishingTube weighing and pressure reading in panel, server and visualization rooms; evaluation of nozzles, actuators and room tightness
Hydrant + fire cabinetStatic-dynamic pressure taken from the end of the ring in large OSB parcels, review of hoses and nozzles, operation of valves
Emergency lightingEvacuation test conducted with timing in hospital and shopping mall corridors, battery health and fixture inspection

Each line in this table is tied to a number and a photo in the report: what pressure in bars was read, at what pressure the pump activated, how many minutes the lighting lasted—not an "inspected" note, but the measured value. Which system was addressed according to which standard periodic inspection is on the page. A tube that came out light on the scale during the round, an optical detector worn out by dust or a cracked hose product stock is completed within the same organization. To Set Up Your Maintenance Program

One contract, a solution for everything: we provide end-to-end maintenance to fire detection, gas suppression, sprinkler, hydrant, and pump units in their entirety; if you wish, camera (CCTV) system maintenance can also be added to the same contract.

If you do not have the brand, age, and last maintenance record of the existing system on hand, that is not a problem; the first step is anyway inventory and current condition assessment. Setting up an annual program without seeing what is there in the field means selling maintenance for a system that does not exist.

You can examine your system brand's product equivalents in our product catalog ; for requirements specific to your facility's use class, you can visit our sectoral solutions pages.

For survey and quotation you can or send your plan through our write or directly You can call call the number. Survey is free within Ankara; for facilities throughout Turkey, the visit plan is established jointly before contract.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Diyarbakır leg of the tour work; can we see the maintenance date in advance?

The team departs from Ankara; the backbone of the schedule consists of contracted facilities in Diyarbakır and Gaziantep, with work in surrounding provinces added to this backbone. Contracted facilities see the tour calendar from the start and prepare according to the maintenance date; for one-time jobs we determine the date of the nearest tour together. We do not commit to same-day site surveys outside Ankara.

We are at a marble factory; will we have to frequently replace detectors because of dust?

Mostly no. Generally it is not the device itself that becomes fatigued but the dust that accumulates inside it; during maintenance this dust is removed, how sensitive the device remains is seen numerically, and most detectors return to service. In areas where dust falls continuously, the correct approach is not frequently installing new ones but changing the type: a heat detector is unaffected by mineral dust. The decision is presented to you along with measurement values.

At our bulgur facility, do you include silos and elevators in the inspection scope?

Yes, and as a priority item. Elevator legs, silo top and dryer outlet are the points where heat meets organic dust; detection type, aspiration operation and cleaning arrangement are separately evaluated in these areas, and findings are entered in the report as a separate section.

Our building at the Textile Specialization OSB is nearly complete; another company did the installation, will you perform the commissioning?

Yes. For systems installed by other companies we independently conduct commissioning and acceptance tests: scenario tests, cycle measurements and you will receive them with a deficiency list. Subsequently, periodic maintenance of the same system can continue under a single contract.

If the cutting line stops due to panel failure, how does first aid arrive from 900 kilometers away?

First aid comes through the telephone line: we request the panel's error code, a few photographs and the sequence of events; the source of the problem narrows significantly in this consultation. If on-site intervention is needed, dispatch is prioritized according to the criticality of the fault; the vehicle is loaded with the card matching your panel and spares, with the goal of the team completing the job in one visit and returning.
