From warehouses in the port hinterland in Mersin to food and packaging lines in MTOSB, from cold storage facilities to coastal hotels: periodic inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting of fire detection, sprinkler, gas suppression and pump units.

Facility fabric and fire risk in Mersin

Three fabric types determine maintenance demand in Mersin. First is the port and hinterland: container yards, warehouses, free zones and logistics depots on the Yenice line. Second is cold chain: cold storage facilities for citrus and fresh fruit-vegetable export. Third is OIZ manufacturing: Mersin-Tarsus OIZ (MTOSB) alone houses over 250 facilities dominated by food, packaging, plastics, chemicals, machinery, furniture and glass; Tarsus OIZ continues this fabric eastward.

This fabric concentrates fire safety on specific systems:

Maintenance scenarios specific to Mersin

Cold storage facility: freezing and early detection

Wet pipe sprinkler freezes in sub-zero spaces. Correct installation is dry pipe or pre-action system. In maintenance, compressor and air dryer are checked, condensate accumulated at low points is drained, alarm valve and accelerator are tested. On the detection side, point-type detector is unreliable at low temperature and condensation; if air sampling detection (ASD) exists, filter replacement and cleaning of sampling orifices are main maintenance items. Condensate drainage neglected in dry systems reveals itself with pipe cracking in first severe cold.

Port hinterland warehouse: pump and corrosion

The first place inspected in a warehouse is the pump room. Battery, fuel and cooling circuit of diesel pump; pressure switch of electric pump; cycle frequency of jockey pump are measured. Frequent jockey cycling often signals silent leakage; the source is traced in the tour. Near the sea, corrosion is rapid: hydrant caps, valve stems and cabinet records seize in salty air within several seasons. In the tour, hydrants are opened one by one, stuck valves are operated and greased.

MTOSB food and packaging line: dust, hood, control room

Flour, starch and plastic granule dust fouls optical detector; false alarm often starts with this. If cleaning is insufficient, detector type change is recommended in the report. On frying and roasting lines, hood suppression nozzles bind with grease: nozzle cleaning, frangible element replacement and cylinder weighing are performed. FM-200 / Novec cylinders in electrical control rooms are weighed, pressure and tightness checked.

Service model from Ankara headquarters to Mersin

We have no branch in Mersin. Our headquarters is in Ankara and nationwide service we work with this model. Planned maintenance runs by regional tour: Mersin jobs are aligned on the same schedule as other jobs on the Tarsus and Adana line; travel cost is distributed to the tour, not a single job. In emergency breakdown, the sequence differs: first remote diagnosis is made—PBX brand, fault code and photograph narrow down the fault, required part is determined—then the team departs. This sequence prevents the team from going out with missing parts and leaving a second time. Detail of the fault flow is emergency repair service on the page. For inquiry contact form or You can callA zone monitoring module connects an entire conventional detector line to the addressable loop. Critical areas are renewed with addressable devices while secondary zones continue to operate with their existing wiring. This provides significant cost advantage in capacity upgrade and renovation projects.

Scope of periodic inspection and report

Fire regulation does not specify maintenance frequency in numbers; it refers to the relevant standard. We also establish inspection based on standard: TS EN 12845 for sprinkler and pump group, TS EN 15004 for gaseous suppression, TS CEN/TS 54-14 for detection. Periodic Inspection typical scope in tour:

  • Detection: zone/address verification, detector contamination measurement, battery test
  • Sprinklers: alarm valve, flow switch, zone valve position check
  • Pump group: automatic pressure switch, pressure values, diesel start test
  • Gaseous suppression: cylinder weighing, pressure, control of discharge components
  • Fire cabinet, hydrant, emergency lighting: physical condition and function test

Each tour closes with a deficiency list and photographic report. Billing logic is maintenance prices on the page; changed detector, valve and sprinkler heads product stock are covered.

To Set Up Your Maintenance Program

One contract, a solution for everything: we provide end-to-end maintenance to fire detection, gas suppression, sprinkler, hydrant, and pump units in their entirety; if you wish, camera (CCTV) system maintenance can also be added to the same contract.

If you do not have the brand, age, and last maintenance record of the existing system on hand, that is not a problem; the first step is anyway inventory and current condition assessment. Setting up an annual program without seeing what is there in the field means selling maintenance for a system that does not exist.

You can examine your system brand's product equivalents in our product catalog ; for requirements specific to your facility's use class, you can visit our sectoral solutions pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which districts do you service in Mersin?

The districts of Akdeniz, Yenişehir, Mezitli and Toroslar, port hinterland, free trade zone, MTOSB and Tarsus OSB are covered under regular tour schedules. Distant districts such as the Erdemli–Silifke corridor and Anamur are planned separately according to tour programming.

How far in advance must we schedule for inspection and maintenance?

For planned maintenance, notice 1–2 weeks in advance is ideal; Mersin requests are grouped with the Tarsus–Adana regional tour and the date is finalized together. Fault reports do not wait for tours; remote preliminary diagnosis begins during the same call.

Our cold storage warehouse has sprinklers; how is freezing risk managed?

Wet pipe systems are not used in sub-zero rooms; dry pipe or pre-action systems are required. If wet pipe exists in the current installation, it is identified during site survey, conversion recommendation and interim measures are documented in the report. In dry systems, compressor and condensate drainage are checked at each tour.

Does pump testing halt warehouse operations?

No. Testing is performed via the test line with the system remaining in service. Brief valve operations are coordinated in advance with depot operations; scheduling is based on shipping hours.

Is FM-200 cylinder filling done on-site in Mersin?

No; cylinder filling cannot be performed on-site. Cylinders are removed, filled at the filling facility and tested, then remounted. To prevent protection gaps, removal and reinstallation are planned with the regional tour, and where possible, spare cylinders are brought into service.
