Periodic inspection and maintenance of fire detection, sprinkler, pump group, and gaseous suppression systems at carpet, yarn, and food facilities in Gaziantep OSB. Engineering staff based in Ankara operates with a regional maintenance tour model.

Facility fabric in Gaziantep and fire load

Gaziantep hosts one of Turkey's largest organized industrial zones. In Başpınar, the Gaziantep OSB comprises five sections and exceeds a total area of 4,300 hectares. Throughout the province, also Nizip OSBhistoric buildings İslahiye OSB and Besi İhtisas OSB share the production load.

The dominant fabric is clear: machine carpet, yarn and textiles. Approximately three-quarters of Turkey's carpet production comes from this city. The second major sector is food processing; facilities processing flour, semolina, pasta, bulgur and pistachios are dense. Plastic and packaging production accompany these two sectors.

From a fire engineering perspective, this picture has one meaning: high fire load. Yarn bobbins, fiber bales and carpet rolls ignite rapidly, produce heavy smoke, and burn deep within layered stacks. A fiber pile that appears extinguished may reignite hours later. For this reason, maintenance work in Gaziantep requires more than a routine checklist.

Which systems stand out in this fabric

  • Sprinkler and in-rack sprinkler: In high-stacked carpet and yarn warehouses, ceiling sprinklers alone are insufficient; as stack height increases, in-rack protection becomes relevant. For details see warehouse and storage solutions page.
  • Fire detection: In weaving and yarn areas, there is continuous airborne fiber dust; detector selection and maintenance interval shall be established accordingly. Our approach for production areas is factory solutions page.
  • Pump group and hydrant line: OSB parcels are large and water demand is high. Pump periodic testing and hydrant line inspection form the backbone of maintenance.
  • Gaseous suppression: FM-200/Novec type systems are used in control panel rooms and transformer vaults serving carpet and yarn lines; weighing and pressure control are required. See energy and transformer solutionsA zone monitoring module connects an entire conventional detector line to the addressable loop. Critical areas are renewed with addressable devices while secondary zones continue to operate with their existing wiring. This provides significant cost advantage in capacity upgrade and renovation projects.

Three field examples: carpet production area, carpet warehouse, mill

1. Carpet and yarn production area: dust problem

Fiber dust accumulates in the chamber of the optical smoke detector. The result is false alarm; as alarms increase, personnel develop the habit of silencing the panel, delaying detection of real fire. In maintenance, detector cleaning and sensitivity measurement are scheduled more frequently than standard intervals; in critical spaces, transition to filtered air sampling detection is evaluated.

2. High-stacked carpet warehouse: design-to-stack alignment

The first question in warehouse maintenance is: is the current stack height the height for which the sprinklers were designed? As carpet stock grows, the stack silently increases; meanwhile, the heads remain positioned according to the old design height. In periodic inspection, stack-design alignment, pump test records, and in-rack sprinkler line are validated together.

3. Flour and semolina facility: dust load

In mill and screening sections, organic dust both obscures detection and increases ignition risk. In maintenance, detector type is reviewed for environmental suitability, dust accumulation is checked, and detection points around hot surfaces are tested.

Service model from Ankara center to Gaziantep

Our center is in Ankara; we do not maintain an office in Gaziantep, and regular tour schedule carries the work. Planned maintenance is conducted via regional maintenance tour : facilities in Gaziantep are grouped on the same tour schedule, and inspection and maintenance dates are finalized accordingly. In emergency breakdown, first perform remote preliminary diagnosis is performed — panel fault code, photograph and incident log are used to narrow the problem — if necessary, the team is dispatched. This model operates the same across all provinces; details are explained on the nationwide service page, and central operations on the Ankara page .

For inspection scope and test items, see the periodic inspection page; for contract structure, see the maintenance prices page. During maintenance, replaced detectors, sprinkler heads and spare parts are supplied from our product stock . To Set Up Your Maintenance Program

One contract, a solution for everything: we provide end-to-end maintenance to fire detection, gas suppression, sprinkler, hydrant, and pump units in their entirety; if you wish, camera (CCTV) system maintenance can also be added to the same contract.

If you do not have the brand, age, and last maintenance record of the existing system on hand, that is not a problem; the first step is anyway inventory and current condition assessment. Setting up an annual program without seeing what is there in the field means selling maintenance for a system that does not exist.

You can examine your system brand's product equivalents in our product catalog ; for requirements specific to your facility's use class, you can visit our sectoral solutions pages.

For survey and quotation you can or send your plan through our write or directly You can call call the number. Survey is free within Ankara; for facilities throughout Turkey, the visit plan is established jointly before contract.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which areas do you service in Gaziantep?

All five sections of Gaziantep OSB (Başpınar), Nizip OSB, İslahiye OSB and Besi İhtisas OSB, as well as industrial facilities throughout the province; we also service shopping malls, hotels, hospitals and warehouses in the city center.

Do you have a branch in Gaziantep, how does the service work?

We do not have a branch; our headquarters is in Ankara. Scheduled maintenance is grouped by regional maintenance rounds; in case of emergency fault, remote preliminary diagnosis is performed via panel error code and photographs, and a team is dispatched if necessary.

How far in advance should we plan for a site survey?

The survey is scheduled for the next suitable round heading toward Gaziantep and the date is notified to you in writing; requests coming during the tour week may be deferred to the next round. If you share facility information and system inventory in advance, the survey can be completed in a single visit.

We have continuous false alarms in our carpet and yarn facility, what is the solution?

The cause is usually fiber dust accumulating in the detector chamber. We increase the frequency of detector cleaning and sensitivity measurement; in chronically affected areas we evaluate transitioning to filtered air sampling detection. Removing and disabling the detector means the facility operator has silenced the detection, not prevented the alarm.

What systems does the maintenance contract cover?

Fire detection, sprinkler, pump group, hydrant and fire cabinets, gaseous suppression (FM-200/Novec), hood suppression and emergency lighting can be combined in a single contract. The scope is written according to the inventory identified in the survey; test and refill items are listed separately.
