Fire detection, suppression, pump, and emergency lighting system maintenance in Istanbul cannot fit into a single mold: Tuzla's chemical belt, Ikitelli's metal-machinery fabric, shopping malls and high-rise stock, data centers require separate checklists. This page describes how our service model, based in Ankara and operating throughout Turkey, is applied to Istanbul.
In Istanbul, maintenance planning is structured according to the two shores.
Istanbul cannot be planned as a single city. Bridge traffic can consume half of a maintenance day. For this reason, we consolidate the facilities in Istanbul into two separate maintenance rounds for the European and Anatolian shores: a chemical facility in Tuzla and a warehouse in Beylikdüzü are not scheduled on the same day. Facilities on the same shore are scheduled consecutively; travel time does not detract from test time.
Which systems does Istanbul's facility structure prioritize?
Tuzla zone: chemicals, leather, shipyards
The southern Anatolian shore is the city's most concentrated industrial zone. Multiple organized industrial zones operate in and around Tuzla, including Istanbul Tuzla OSB, Istanbul Leather OSB, Tuzla Chemical Manufacturers OSB, Union OSB, and Istanbul Anatolian Shore OSB; the shipyards region is added to this. In chemical and paint manufacturing, foam suppression, tank field cooling, and exproof detection are prominent. On the shipyard side, hot work is intensive; hydrant lines and monitors form the main backbone. In this structure, maintenance focus shifts from sprinklers to foam proportioning and hydrant pressure testing. Critical areas are renewed with addressable devices while secondary zones continue to operate with their existing wiring. This provides significant cost advantage in capacity upgrade and renovation projects.
Ikitelli, Dudullu, Beylikdüzü: metals, machinery, plastics
Ikitelli OSB on the European shore houses tens of thousands of businesses; metals, machinery, plastics, and textiles are dominant. Beylikdüzü OSB features plastics and machinery; Dudullu OSB on the Anatolian shore shows a similar profile in metals and automotive supply industries. Typical installation: addressable detection, sprinklers, fire cabinets, and pump units. The most frequent deficiency we find in these facilities is in the pump room: test records not maintained, jockey pump settings drifted, valves left half-closed. In plastics and textiles, dust and fiber accelerate detector fouling; cleaning intervals are shortened accordingly.
Shopping malls and high-rise buildings
Istanbul carries Turkey's largest stock of shopping malls and high-rise structures. In shopping malls, sprinklers, smoke control, food court hood suppression, and pump units must be combined in a single maintenance contract; these systems operate interlocked. In high-rise residential and office towers, stairwell pressurization fans and emergency lighting circuits have not been tested against real scenarios since the day they were commissioned in most buildings. Hotels require a similar package; in Istanbul, the calendar is determined not by season but by conference and fair density. Data centers
A large portion of Turkey's commercial data center capacity operates in Istanbul: major facilities operate in Esenyurt, Ümraniye–Dudullu, and Tuzla. Standard equipment is gas suppression (FM-200 / Novec 1230) and air-sampling detection (ASD). In these facilities, maintenance is as much a planning task as a technical one: downtime window, authorization, room sealing. | Zone | Dominant structure | Maintenance focus |
|---|---|---|
| Tuzla – Pendik | Chemicals, leather, shipyards | Foam system, hydrants, exproof detection |
| Ikitelli – Beylikdüzü | Metals, machinery, plastics | Pump units, sprinklers, detector cleaning |
| Dudullu – Ümraniye | Metals, supply industry, data centers | Gas suppression, ASD, addressable detection |
| Central districts | Shopping malls, high-rises, hotels | Sprinklers, pressurization, hood suppression |
Three maintenance scenarios specific to Istanbul
- Foam system inspection in Tuzla. A sample is taken from the foam concentrate; shelf life and mixing ratio are verified; the proportioner is tested at target percentage. Expired concentrate cannot form a blanket in a fire. By the seaside, moisture and salinity additionally wear metal components; corrosion control is added to the checklist.
- Data center gas maintenance in Ümraniye. Cylinder weighing and pressure control, discharge line and nozzle blockage inspection, room integrity review. Work is scheduled during the night downtime window; cylinders are not touched until the suppression line is placed in maintenance mode.
- Shopping mall food court hood round. Oil buildup on nozzle caps, condition of fusible links, and compliance of the line with new equipment placement during tenant changes are inspected. Work is performed during post-closing hours, coordinated with facility management.
Service model from Ankara headquarters to Istanbul
ASPEK is headquartered in Ankara (Beştepe) and operates nationwide; we have no branch in Istanbul, and we do not claim otherwise. In planned maintenance, Istanbul facilities are assigned to shore-based rounds; the round date is fixed in advance with the facility. In emergency breakdown, the first step is remote pre-diagnosis: panel fault code, photographs and video, if necessary joint troubleshooting by phone with facility technician. Some breakdowns are resolved at this stage; if not, the team departs with the correct spare parts. Outside Ankara, we do not promise same-day diagnosis; we meet the date we provide. The complete model is on nationwide service and emergency repair service pages.
Inspection scope and report format are on the periodic inspection page; budget framework on the maintenance prices page. To Set Up Your Maintenance Program
One contract, a solution for everything: we provide end-to-end maintenance to fire detection, gas suppression, sprinkler, hydrant, and pump units in their entirety; if you wish, camera (CCTV) system maintenance can also be added to the same contract.
If you do not have the brand, age, and last maintenance record of the existing system on hand, that is not a problem; the first step is anyway inventory and current condition assessment. Setting up an annual program without seeing what is there in the field means selling maintenance for a system that does not exist.
You can examine your system brand's product equivalents in our product catalog ; for requirements specific to your facility's use class, you can visit our sectoral solutions pages.
For survey and quotation you can or send your plan through our write or directly You can call call the number. Survey is free within Ankara; for facilities throughout Turkey, the visit plan is established jointly before contract.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which areas in Istanbul do you service?
Both shores in their entirety: Tuzla, Pendik, Dudullu–Ümraniye, Ikitelli, Beylikdüzü, Hadımköy and central districts. Planned maintenance is conducted through shore-based tours; facilities in the same area are scheduled sequentially. Emergency breakdowns are handled separately, independent of the tour schedule.
How far in advance should we plan for a site survey?
Istanbul tours are scheduled in advance. When your request arrives, you are added to the next available tour and the date is confirmed with you. To accelerate the process, we conduct remote preliminary assessment based on project documentation, photographs and last maintenance records; the survey day holds no surprises.
Do you service the foam suppression system at our chemical facility in Tuzla?
Yes. Foam concentrate samples are taken and shelf life is verified, the proportioner is tested at target mixture percentage, pressure is measured in the hydrant line. Exproof detection equipment and coastal corrosion are also included in the checklist.
Does gas suppression maintenance at our data center require downtime?
Cylinder weighing and most visual inspections can be performed without interruption. Work involving the discharge line requires placing the suppression system in maintenance mode and scheduling a maintenance window; we plan these tasks during night windows.
How quickly can you reach Istanbul in case of emergency?
We first perform remote preliminary diagnosis: error code, photo-video and trial over the phone resolve some breakdowns the same day. If crew dispatch is required, we commit to and meet a specific date; we do not guarantee same-day service for locations outside Ankara. For critical systems, we provide temporary mitigation instructions over the phone while the crew is en route.
