In Kahramanmaraş, the axis of fire safety is dust: suspended cotton fibers in the air in thread and weaving halls, metal dust in polishing cabins, organic dust in mills and silos. From Kahramanmaraş OSB to the Textile Specialization OSB in Dulkadiroğlu, from the Food Specialization OSB in Türkoğlu to Elbistan, we carry out detection, sprinkler, gas system, and extinguishing agent maintenance of facilities with our Ankara-based team through planned regional tours.
Cotton dust alone does not cause fire; it produces static charge that builds up on it.
In the yarn mill, waiting for light to come from the right angle to see the suspended fibers is necessary. The real issue is not the dust itself but the charge accumulating on it: as fibers rub together, they become charged, and when relative humidity drops, this charge finds no path to discharge and at some point discharges as a spark. Given the yarn and weaving density in Kahramanmaraş, the first question in maintenance is: what is the condition of humidification, and when was the continuity of grounding last measured?
Risk sits in the heart of the industrial fabric. Kahramanmaraş OSBhas textile lines, aluminum sheet and metal kitchenware manufacturing facilities side by side; in Dulkadiroğlu Textile Specialization OSB gathers the yarn–weaving–dyeing/finishing chain in a separate area, in Türkoğlu Food Specialization OSB brings producers together from ice cream makers to spice manufacturers, Elbistan forms a separate cluster with agricultural and energy ancillary industries. In such a fabric, optical detectors blind quickly; an instrument with reduced sensitivity sees real smoke late. In the round, the reservoir is cleaned, the sensitivity value is read from the panel and written as a number on the report — if there is no value, then no measurement has been taken.
The threshing–cleaning line typically falls outside most maintenance contracts
When a stone or metal piece coming from the bale hits the threshing blade, it produces a spark. It is invisible, gets into the pneumatic line and reaches the filter or cyclone within seconds: to where the densest fiber accumulation exists. Fire most often starts there. The spark detection–suppression line is installed for this reason; but in panel maintenance it is classified as "process equipment" and skipped:
- The lens surface and viewing angle of spark detectors — a fine dust film blinds the line.
- The filter, solenoid valve, pressure and post-test discharge of the water spray line.
- Response time and detector–nozzle distance; if line speed changed, distance has also changed.
- Detection in filter and cyclone body, freedom of explosion relief doors.
On the dyeing–finishing side, risk becomes oil
The padding machine carries oil, silicone and paraffin from the fabric into the exhaust channel; this oil accumulating in the channel is the facility's most frequently overlooked fuel. If there is internal suppression, nozzle placement, and if not, channel cleaning records should appear as a separate item in the report. Fabric roll storage stacks rise, but ceiling sprinkler placement remains the same; storage protection is compared against actual stacking in each round.
From the teapot press to the polishing booth: metal has its own dust too
The province's second signature is metal kitchenware: stainless steel pots, teapots, aluminum cookware groups. The chain starts at the press, continues with polishing, ends at coating and powder paint — three stations, three separate fire characteristics.
- Pressing and drawing: drawing oil mist and machine-bottom oil-chip; hydraulic leakage meeting hot surfaces gives rapid fire.
- Polishing and sanding: felt and polish paste mix with metal dust and accumulate in the dust collector; on aluminum dust lines suppressing agent selection is discussed separately. The channel from the booth hood to the collector is the shortcut for sparks.
- Coating and powder paint: bath vapor corrodes detector body and panel contacts; equipment appearing "operational" in testing may be finished by corrosion.
Ice cream, tarhana and pepper: in food, risk divides in two
On ice cream and milk side, weight is in the cooling machine room, compressor panels and packaging storage; there it is verified that refrigerant gas detection does not replace fire detection. In pepper, tarhana and flour products, risk becomes dust: in mills, elevators and silos, suspended organic dust awaits a spark; in ready-meal lines, a hood is added to this.

For portable extinguisher, the standard is TS 11827. We do not determine the period: the obligation comes from legislation, frequency from the standard and manufacturer's manual; the scope of inspection is on a separate page.
How and when we come to Kahramanmaraş
We have no office carrying a sign in this province; Kahramanmaraş is one of the planned stops on the regional round running down from Ankara through Kayseri. The route carpet, textile and food industry is by far the region's most intensive service point. and Adana stops are also included; the day is fixed in writing during the survey. For no province outside Ankara do we say "we are on site the same day"; this statement does not fit road reality. The promise we make is different: in case of malfunction notification the same day remote preliminary diagnosis is made from panel photo and event record, the faulty area is isolated and the rest of the system is kept in service. Within Ankara survey is free; outside the province, survey depends on the tour plan.
From detection to gas suppression, from sprinklers to portable extinguishers, the entire facility can be consolidated in a single contract; if desired, CCTV maintenance at the facility is added to the same visit. Share your shift schedule and maintenance window, let us draw up a plan without stopping production; facility scope and nationwide service is on separate pages.
First-year maintenance in a newly established facility
Many facilities in the province have been rebuilt or undergone revision in recent years. The new system is under warranty; manufacturer warranty on most brands is tied to documented maintenance condition; the first year without maintenance makes subsequent warranty claims difficult. The first year is also when differences between project and implementation become visible: an area outside scope or an untested scenario emerges at first maintenance. In structures that have experienced seismic movement, this is supplemented by sprinkler hangers, flexible connections at expansion joints and battery cabinet fastening; a loosened hanger runs silently, delivering its consequence at the first pressure wave.
To Set Up Your Maintenance Program
One contract, a solution for everything: we provide end-to-end maintenance to fire detection, gas suppression, sprinkler, hydrant, and pump units in their entirety; if you wish, camera (CCTV) system maintenance can also be added to the same contract.
If you do not have the brand, age, and last maintenance record of the existing system on hand, that is not a problem; the first step is anyway inventory and current condition assessment. Setting up an annual program without seeing what is there in the field means selling maintenance for a system that does not exist.
You can examine your system brand's product equivalents in our product catalog ; for requirements specific to your facility's use class, you can visit our sectoral solutions pages.
For survey and quotation you can or send your plan through our write or directly You can call call the number. Survey is free within Ankara; for facilities throughout Turkey, the visit plan is established jointly before contract.
Frequently Asked Questions
Detectors in the yarn mill constantly trigger nuisance alarms; does reducing sensitivity solve it?
Short term, it silences the alarm; medium term, it renders the system inoperative. First, we measure the cause: debris in the chamber, mounting location, or humidity and static management? After chamber cleaning, the sensitivity value read from the panel indicates soiling rate; if rate is high, aspirated air sampling with filtration (aspiration) replaces point-type detector, or beam-type is evaluated on critical lines. The decision is made based on field-measured values, not by lowering a threshold by guesswork.
Can our threshing spark detection–suppression system be included in the maintenance contract?
It can and should be; since this line operates independently of the fire detection panel, most contracts overlook it. When covered, detector lenses are cleaned and viewing angle verified, water spray line filter, solenoid valve and pressure are tested, and the line is purged after testing. If you changed line speed or machine placement, the distance between detector and nozzle must be recalculated; the old distance will lag at the new speed.
We had water suppression installed on the dust collector in the polishing area; is that correct for aluminum dust?
It cannot be deemed "correct" or "incorrect" beforehand; the composition of dust in the collector must be examined. Dust predominantly stainless with polish and felt residue is not the same as predominantly aluminum dust: contact between fine metal powders and water is a separate evaluation matter, and dry chemical or inertant may be more suitable. During the site visit, which lines feed which collector, filter type and duct routing are documented, and recommendations are written based on this table.
Detectors and panel contacts frequently fail on our electroplating line; is it poor equipment quality?
Usually not, it is corrosion. Bath vapor slowly corrodes the housing and contact; the device appears "working" in function test but has exhausted its life. In maintenance, housing and contact corrosion, protection class, mounting location and distance are evaluated together. At chronic points, protected enclosure, different detector type or repositioning is recommended; if replacement is necessary, the interval is extended with correct type selection.
Since you have no office in Kahramanmaraş, how long do I wait if a fault occurs?
Our commitment regarding wait time is clear: we do not pledge same-day on-site presence, because that is not realistic for a team dispatching from Ankara. On the day notification arrives, remote pre-diagnosis is performed via panel photograph, error code and event log; the faulty zone is isolated, the rest of the system remains in service, and if needed, temporary measures are given step-by-step by phone to the facility's technical personnel. Then the part is confirmed and dispatch begins; the date is communicated in writing. The situation differs within Ankara, where site survey is at no charge.
