Lapel microphone. Used by clipping to clothing. The position of lapel microphones directly affects tone; a microphone mounted too low will pick up muffled speech, while one mounted too high will pick up excessive breath noise. Clip and foam windscreen are not sold separately. When the cable is routed under clothing, it remains both invisible and has a longer service life. Orienting the capsule to face the mouth directly improves tone.
