In selecting a recording device, total bandwidth is as decisive as the number of channels; in a system populated with high-resolution cameras, even if the channel count is sufficient, the bandwidth limit may be reached first. Calculated with a typical bitrate range of 2–6 Mbit/s (H.265, 15 fps). Total incoming bandwidth: 16–48 Mbit/s. Disk capacity uses the manufacturer’s TB (1 TB = 1000 GB). Real usage depends on scene activity; for an exact figure enter the bitrate shown on the recorder or take a 24-hour sample recording. The calculation uses the whole disk; if you want to keep part of it free, divide the result by (1 − margin), e.g. by 0.9 for a 10% margin.
