SF309 is a conventional heat detector sensitive to the rate of temperature rise. It provides early alarm by accepting rapid temperature rise as a fire indication without waiting for the temperature to exceed the threshold. In volumes that are normally cool and experience sudden temperature rises, it responds much faster compared to a fixed-threshold detector. It connects to a conventional zone line; it is preferred in storage, archive, and technical space applications.
