Siemens FDOOT241-8 Sinteso Multi-Sensor Detector ASA — MS8 / PMT Modernization

FDOOT241-8 is a multi-sensor detector from the Siemens Sinteso family based on ASAtechnology and, since it can operate in both MS8/PMT and FDnet protocol, is preferred in buildings where existing MS8 installation is to be gradually renewed without complete single-stage dismantling. In MS8 mode it works with SIGMASYS, BMS, SM80/88/D100 and SRS; when transitioning to FDnet mode it operates with FS20, becomes fully addressed in this mode and integrated short-circuit isolator comes into operation — however, since FS20 compatibility depends on country-specific FS20 software support, verification before project commencement is required. A FDB281 base adapter is required for it to sit on existing Z84 bases; protection class becomes IP43 with FDB221/FDB222, and IP44 with FDB281 adapter. Power supply range is DC 14…28 V (MS8) / DC 12…33 V (FDnet), standby current is 200 µA (MS8) and 190…230 µA (FDnet), operating temperature is -25…+70 °C; it falls under EN 54-5, EN 54-7 and EN 54-17 scope and carries VdS G204133 approval. Individual order number is A5Q00004663; when detector and base are requested together, codes FDOOT241-8M (A5Q00016038, including FDB281) or FDOOT241-8B (A5Q00015956, including FDB221) are used.
