Siemens FDO241 Sinteso S-LINE Optical Smoke Detector

FDO241 is an addressable optical smoke detector of the Siemens Sinteso S-LINE family communicating over the FDnet protocol (order number A5Q00004811) and performs measurement according to the advanced scattering principle with a single sensor. Thanks to ASAtechnology support, a parameter set suitable for the environment's characteristics can be selected; thus behavior in volumes with heavy dust, vapor, or air movement can be adjusted without compromising sensitivity. Since it has an internal line isolator, a short circuit occurring in the loop affects only the relevant zone, while the rest of the line continues to operate. For installation, FDB221, FDB221-AA or FDB222 bases are used; IP43 protection is provided with these bases (including FDB291) while IP44 requires FDB221 + FDBZ295 or FDB293 / FDB295 base accessory. Operating at 12…33 V DC and drawing 180…230 µA standby current, the unit is covered by EN 54-7 and EN 54-17; VdS, LPCB, FM and DNV GL (maritime) approvals allow use in ship projects as well. Compatibility in FS20 systems depends on country-specific FS20 software support over FDnet; it can also be configured in AlgoRex and SIGMASYS installations.
