The Siemens FDO221 smoke detector is designed for early detection of flaming and smoldering fires that generate smoke. The sensor operates according to the scattered light principle via optical forward scattering; the optoelectronic sampling chamber optimally detects smoke particles while blocking disturbing ambient light. Detection behavior is selectable according to environment via different parameter sets; the base is ordered separately.
