FDL241-9 linear smoke detector consists of a light transmitter and receiver. The transmitted infrared beam returns from the prism-shaped reflector; when smoke blocks the light path, the signal weakens and an alarm is generated. Since a single device protects a long line, it replaces dozens of point detectors in high-ceiling and large volume spaces. It is preferred in warehouse, sports hall, atrium, and historic structure applications.
