RS Flanged Gate Valve

A rising stem sliding gate valve bolted with flanges to the main fire water line. For large diameters, flanges are used instead of threaded connections; when the line is drained, the valve bolts can be removed to take the valve out of service, which simplifies maintenance at the pump station. During installation, clearance equal to the stem length must be left above the valve; the stem being exposed indicates that the line is open.
