A matrix panel that interconnects the ship's public address and alarm lines with an intelligent addressable fire system. Unlike repeater and mimic panels, it does not list events; it routes voice alerts to the designated zones. It is positioned on seagoing vessels with high compartment numbers such as passenger ships, yachts, and cargo ships. Since alerts can only be transmitted to relevant compartments, evacuation can be carried out in stages rather than all at once.
