ML-2173 is a conventional beam type smoke detector that evaluates light reflected from a reflector placed opposite it. Its difference from the transmitter-receiver version is that it operates at distances of 5-35 meters with a single reflector and 5-50 meters with four reflectors, and can protect 620 square meters. It operates in high-bay production halls, enclosed parking garages, and large retail stores. Since the electronic components are concentrated at a single point, the cable is routed to only one end, and no maintenance-requiring device remains at the opposite end.
