The ML-2130.IS is a combined-operation heat detector in the intrinsically safe conventional series installed in hazardous areas. Its difference from the fixed-threshold model is that it also considers rapid temperature rise as an alarm cause without waiting for temperature to reach a specific degree. It operates in locations such as process lines and engine compartments where temperature changes throughout the day. In slow-developing fire the fixed threshold acts, in rapid-growth fire the rate of increase is engaged, so both fire types are detected with a single device.
