ML-2120 is a conventional fixed temperature detector that alerts when a predetermined temperature threshold is reached. It differs from optical smoke model; it is concerned not with particles in air but only with the ambient temperature exceeding the threshold. It is preferred in kitchens, boiler rooms, and volumes where dust and vapor are considered normal. In environments where smoke-based devices provide continuous response, this type prevents unnecessary triggering of the suppression system.
