ML-1170.SCI/M is a marine type addressable detector that combines receiver-transmitter beam detection with a short circuit isolator. It uses the same optical principle as the isolator-free version; the added function is the limitation of the short circuit at the device level. It is preferred in projects where long deck lines are protected. Since the beam detector is often placed at the furthest point of the cycle, the isolator in the housing prevents a fault at that location from affecting the entire system.
