It is a mechanical protective cover mounted in front of the fire alarm button; it shields the button against direct contact. The ML-27X0.IS series is designed to be used with intrinsically safe conventional buttons. It is preferred in common areas with heavy human circulation such as schools, hospital corridors and parking garages. Since it makes accidental or deliberate pressing of the button difficult, it reduces the burden of unnecessary evacuation and control panel reset.
