The DCD-1E-IS is an intrinsically safe conventional heat detector designed for use in hazardous areas. It carries a 60 °C fixed temperature sensor and a parallel alarm lamp connection point; it is ATEX certified. The intrinsic safety principle is based on limiting the energy in the device circuit to a level that cannot ignite gas or dust in the environment. It is used in conjunction with the YBN-R/4 IS intrinsically safe base.
