Accelerator Unit

An auxiliary unit mounted next to the alarm valve in dry pipe sprinkler systems; it detects sudden drops in pressurized air in the line and accelerates the opening of the valve. This shortens the time for water to fill the pipe and reach the sprinkler head after a sprinkler opens. It operates with a diaphragm mechanism; used in cold storage warehouses and high-ceiling storage facilities.
