In the O²T detector, two optical sensors measuring at different scattering angles and one heat sensor are evaluated together. The comparison of two smoke signals classifies the type of smoke; false alarms arising from water vapor or dust are significantly reduced. The device can operate even in high ambient temperatures reaching +65 °C. It prevents unnecessary evacuations in steam-generating production areas, laundries, and kitchen surroundings.
