This serial interface module, configurable as RS 232 or TTY, enables the control panel to communicate with external devices. Equipment such as external printers, protocol printers, or modems used for remote diagnostics are connected via this card. In RS 232 mode, it draws approximately 35 mA standby current. It creates a permanent connection point for maintenance teams who wish to monitor the status of a control panel at a remote location without traveling on-site.
