An additional card installed as a plug-in module on top of redundancy adapters. It becomes active when fire alarm control panel information is not included in the central unit's serial protocol and converts parallel information from Series 8000 and IQ8Control central units to serial format. This allows fire alarm control panels with serial interfaces to be connected to older panels. Since it derives its power from the connected redundancy adapter, no separate power supply line needs to be run.
