The EFIRE EOD series is a conventional smoke detector that detects smoke particles entering the detection cell using an optical method. It is connected to a zone line; since it has no address of its own, the alarm appears on the panel not as a device but as the zone it is connected to. It is used for general monitoring of closed spaces such as corridors, offices, and storage areas.
