An aerosol can with a volume of 250 ml used in smoke detector testing. Aerosol sprayed into the test head creates an environment similar to real smoke in the sensing chamber. The can size is sufficient for sequential testing of multiple devices in a single maintenance round. Demonstrating on-site that the alarm chain operates from the detector to the panel has documentary value in acceptance and periodic inspections.
