HSSD-1 is an exact replacement for the filter element in the air passage of the aspiration unit. Coarse contamination in the drawn air is retained here, keeping the measurement chamber clean. In the field, contamination rate varies according to ambient dust levels; replacement at maintenance intervals preserves the unit's early warning capability. For units operating in older installations, maintaining stock on hand shortens maintenance downtime.
