The aspirating (air sampling) smoke detector family; detects smoke by analyzing air drawn through holes in pipes distributed throughout the protected space. It is used in locations where point-type detectors are ineffective or cannot be installed: high-ceiling spaces, cold storage facilities, server rooms, and areas with difficult access. It provides early warning because smoke is captured at the pipe before reaching the ceiling.
