A conventional reflective linear smoke detector designed for long spans; the coverage distance is between 50 and 100 meters. The transmitting and receiving section along with the evaluation circuit are housed in a common enclosure. Adjustable alarm threshold and contamination compensation limit false alarms in dusty production halls. One unit covering a hundred-meter volume reduces wiring burden in projects that would otherwise require numerous point detectors.
