It is a mounting element that combines the detector base and relay output in a single housing. The inverting relay inside has Form C contact configuration, allowing connection to both normally open and normally closed circuits. Since it only draws 0.2 mA from the LSN loop, it does not strain the power budget on the loop. Triggering a device such as a damper or door magnet in place at the moment of alarm eliminates the need to allocate a separate relay module and panel space for that point.
