A converter used to extend the Ethernet network of fire panels over multimode fiber lines. Speed, duplex mode, and line break alarm are configured via DIP switches on the housing. The aluminum enclosure operates in the range -40 to 75 °C and is mounted on a rack or rail, powered at 20-30 VDC. In the event of power or port failure, the relay output provides a signal, preventing unnoticed network interruptions.
