Asenware AW-SSD701-AB 9 VDC / 220 VAC Standalone Photoelectric Smoke Detector

The AW-SSD701-AB is a standalone photoelectric smoke detector powered by 220 VAC mains voltage and switching to a 9 V DC backup battery during power outages. It operates on the principle of light scattering by smoke particles entering the optical chamber; this method is sensitive to the early stages of smoldering fires with no flames. Since it provides audible alerts independently without connection to a fire panel, it can be positioned standalone in residential apartments, small office spaces, and hotel bedrooms where an addressable or conventional system is not installed. Mains-powered operation reduces the "silent failure when battery is depleted" risk seen in battery-only alarms; nevertheless, periodic inspection of the backup battery should not be neglected. The battery-only version of the same family, AW-SSD701, is a separate product; pay attention to the -AB suffix during ordering.
