AW-D233C is an alarm device connected to conventional fire alarm lines; it combines alarm sound, flasher, and voice announcement functions in a single body. The addition of voice announcement to the tone sound makes evacuation direction in crowded or noisy environments clearer than what would be possible with the siren alone. Flasher output provides visual support in machine rooms where sound is suppressed and in areas with a high concentration of hearing-impaired users. Being a device of conventional rather than addressable architecture, it should be designed by the panel's zone/siren output while taking into account the end-of-line resistor and total current budget.
