Asenware AW-CTD821-4W 4-Wire Rate of Temperature Rise (RoR) Heat Detector

The AW-CTD821-4W is a heat detector operating on the rate of temperature rise (RoR) principle, which is based on detecting rapid increases in ambient temperature. Since it makes decisions based on heat rather than smoke, it is preferred in spaces with steam, dust, exhaust gases, or heavy soot where smoke-based detection would cause false alarms; enclosed parking areas, boiler rooms, workshops, and kitchen back areas are examples of such locations. Its 4-wire configuration requires that the power supply and alarm line be run on separate pairs; this arrangement allows the detector to be used with relay-output and externally powered conventional installations. It is not an addressable device; the detector triggering an alarm is displayed on the panel through the zone it is connected to; therefore, keeping zone boundaries narrow during the design phase facilitates fault tracking. When putting the system into service, it must be verified that the end-of-line element is present at the last device in the zone and that the power supply polarity is correctly connected.
