The AW-CTD382EX is Asenware's exproof-enclosure conventional heat detector; it senses rapid increases in ambient temperature (based on temperature rise rate principle) and transmits alarm information to the zone circuit of the connected conventional fire alarm panel. In spaces where smoke detectors can produce false signals due to dust, vapor, exhaust, or process smoke, heat-based detection provides a more stable solution. The exproof housing design prevents the device from becoming an ignition source in areas where explosive gas or vapor may be present. Proper installation of cable entries with appropriately certified fittings and complete tightening of the housing cover are critical to maintaining the protective properties in the field.
