Alarm Motor Gong

A mechanical warning device connected to the alarm line of a wet alarm valve. When a sprinkler head opens, water from the valve is directed to the alarm line, which turns the water wheel inside the gong, and the hammer continuously strikes the bell producing an audible warning signal heard from outside the building. It requires no electrical power to operate; it is typically mounted on the external facade of the valve room at a point where the sound can be heard.
